The traditional methods were hard enough to give a platform to new authors. If this merger happens (which I suspect it will once it gets to the higher courts), the pool for writers is going to be much smaller.

It's like aristocracy all over again. A shrinking population mating amongst themselves and looking down upon the commoners. Merit, hardworking, grit, nothing matters. What matters is who your aunt was and where your land is.
