I'm a 2X Top Writer on Quora. They give three options to make money throuhg writing. However, they haven't done that with the answers you write.

So, initially they paid people who asked questions that brought outside traffic to Quora. Now, they will pay writers in the way you describe. But - to the best of my understanding - not for their answers.
