One of my fav people, Alain De Botton, was asked what a good life should aim for. And he said, not success or happiness, but fulfillment. A fulfilled life is good enough.
That idea changed my life and calmed me down so much. I notice the same emotion in your piece, too.
If our island represents only the embellishments of degrees, bank balance, and awards, it will be lackluster when we get there. But when the island also contains core realities like growth, joy, and acceptance, the flaws will shine. Because now, it's a complete story.
