Well, this is a good article. I love the artful way in which you have approached a supposedly taboo subject, gently nudging the readers to look in a direction they otherwise won’t. I also understand that this is how you de-sensationalize a subject that is hurting a lot of people (espcially in India and South Asia).

However, I do believe that sexting is very subjective. It depends on your culture. Most people in metropolitan cities are having such experiences with those who are not from their long-time social circle. You date someone for a few months, you send a few nudes while you’re with them, you break up, and the that particular person drops off from your social circle. They simply vanish.

But what if you were dating someone who was a classmate? Or a family friend? Would you be as comfortable, as risqué to send a nude to them? Maybe not, for this person would simply drop off your Contacts List after you break up, but the number of mutual friends, contemporaries and classmates you both have in common definitely qualifies as long-term.

Having said that, I do appreciate the point you’re making and the spirit of your piece. We all have bodies. We all like to express ourselves. Everyone does it. Not a big deal.

Naked is not equal to shame. For that, I commend you.

I wish the society raises to such a level someday.
